The Ridiculous and the Sublime – March 13, 2011

March 14, 2011

The Ridiculous:

Alternative forms of worship are being practiced at the Jacksonville, FL, LDS Chapel that I attended growing up.

The Mormon Heretic tries and fails to write a non-leading poll.

The Sublime:

J. Stapley examines the ways in which new media allow us to connect, within and without the church.

WVS tells a story of murder, mercantilism, and mismanaged Mormonism.

ESO, responding to a post by Natalie B. at BCC, considers the costs and benefits of moving away from one’s parents.

crazywomancreek counts her blessings, at least one of which involves fire shooting into the sky.

Jan tries to determine what separates Mormons from other Christian faiths (aside from distance and doctrine 😉 )

And Jim F offers yet another set of interesting questions to ask yourself as you prepare for Sunday School.

  1. attn, survey master. please write a non-leading poll discussing racism, prejudice, and bigotry. i’d love to see your attempt. (and i never made any attempts to claim that my survey is in any way scientific.)

  2. Sorry for singling you out, Mormon Heretic. I do have an idea of how hard it can be to write web polls.

  3. Since you have “an idea of how hard it can be to write web polls” perhaps you should be a bit more careful about throwing stones, don’t you think?
